Discernment According to Pope Francis #4

Voc week Blog with Francis 4

Our mission, if we choose to accept it, expresses what our life is all about. Each one of us has a specific mission in this world that God has entrusted to us. Our purpose in life is to discern that mission and live it out. When we do this, we live a life that captures our imagination, fires us with energy and enthusiasm, challenges us to be all who we were created to be and calls us to give all we can for the sake of love.

It is important for us to realise that we have such a mission, and to find out what it is. Our gifts, our passions and our enthusiasm will lead us in the right direction, but we must dig deep to find our deepest desires. Sometimes we can be asleep to who we really are and what our life is about. We can be distracted by superficial living and lose focus. Sometimes we can let fear or comfort-seeking, keep us from dreaming big and from seeing as God sees.

God wants us to live in a way that makes a difference. Our personal mission is a part of God’s mission. How we live can change the world if we let God lead us. We are made for a big vision of life. We will not be happy until we are living the big picture and giving ourselves completely to something that is worth everything. Surrendering our lives and plans to God today will help us to move towards. His dream for our lives, that will make sense of everything.
