The day of my public pronouncement as a perpetually vowed sister was a gift beyond measure. The profundity of this God-chosen-day is one of my treasures as a human being: a joy that is unsurpassable. What I enjoyed the most was the celebration of the Eucharist where there was union of faith, worship and thanksgiving of all the people from different places, cultural background and status in life.
I came to realise that my consecration to God is like the Eucharist. It is a “Thanks – Giving” of myself, meaning that I am grateful to God for all the ways he loves and fulfills his will for me through celebrations with others, and that I am an offering to Him. The unity of this love blesses me and makes me free for his invitation in whichever ways it pleases Him. My hope is that having tasted and seen the wonders of his love, my life would be a daily remembrance of Jesus’ prayer in the last Supper (Mk 14). My prayer is this: God, take me, bless me and break me, so I can become the person you knew before I was born (cf Jer 1).
